What is This Mind Archaeology Thing?

Mind Archaeology, sounds weird, right? Sure, some may call it weird, but I say it's embracing 'Being Unique'. And it's this very uniqueness that helped me overcome my trauma and inspired me to guide others in healing their emotional wounds.

Looking to Take Your Healing to the Next Level?

I've Got You!

Mind Archaeology was born from a belief in the transformative power of delving into one's inner world for self-discovery and healing. I'm inspired to lead you through a journey of self-exploration, empowerment, and healing, drawing on the principles I've forged from my personal journey into the depths of my body, heart, and mind, combined with my clinical expertise and conscious creativity.

Hey

I'm Starlah Rose the creative mind behind Mind Archaeology, where I use my clinical knowledge as a Registered Nurse and Art Therapy Practitioner, and my journey through cPTSD, to bring you a unique blend of compassion, expertise, and lived experience knowledge. I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating trauma and the transformative power of creativity and self-discovery in the healing process.

Navigating Trauma and Healing

Growing up in a challenging environment, I learned to cope by shutting down into functional freeze mode, a survival strategy that I unknowingly carried into adulthood. It wasn't until my young child called me out one day, saying he was tired of seeing my "angry face" when he was just two years old, that I realised it was time to confront my past traumas head-on. This pivotal moment sparked my journey into Mind Archaeology, where I learned to excavate the depths of my subconscious and heal from within. I was determined not to pass on my trauma to him and worked hard at navigating the intricacies of my heart, mind, and yes body, to be the parent I knew I could be, without the 'angry face'.

Lessons from the Indian Himalayas

Even before having my son, I struggled with negative and self-sabotaging thoughts and often found myself in relationships that reinforced these negative perceptions that I held about myself. So, what do you do when you need to outrun your thoughts?

Yep, I ran away to the Indian Himalayas, to volunteer in a Tibetan Children's Village. Surely, being in an environment with all those compassionate and enlightened people would rub off on me!

Unfortunately, not, nor did I find many enlightened people. But what I did find was the art of introspection and the invaluable benefits of facing one's past. Immersed in the teachings of Buddhist principles, I learned the importance of mindfulness, compassion, and self-awareness in the journey of healing and personal growth. These experiences deeply influenced my approach to Mind Archaeology, inspiring me to create a safe and nurturing space for others to explore their inner world and find healing.

My Approach

With Mind Archaeology, I believe that healing begins by exploring the depths of the subconscious mind and the innate wisdom within our bodies. By using the creative healing benefits of art therapy, therapeutic journaling, mindfulness practices, and self-reflection, you can be guided on a journey of deep exploration, helping you uncover buried emotions, heal past wounds, and reclaim your inner strength and resilience.

Why Mind Archaeology?

Mind Archaeology provides a comprehensive approach to healing that transcends conventional therapy techniques. It harnesses the subconscious mind's wisdom and the body's insights by utilising creativity as a means of self-expression. This empowers individuals to reshape their narratives, enhance self-awareness, and lead lives filled with authenticity and intention.
